What we do
Award-winning outdoor stay and play sessions in beautiful Nottingham woodland.
Our approach
At Forest Folk Play, we provide a wide variety of fun and engaging activities, each aimed at allowing children to play and discover the world around them. Our sessions are open-ended and child-initiated meaning that there are no limits to where children can go and what they can discover!
At each session, children can have a go at whittling, fire lighting, and using a variety of tools; they will also have the opportunity to visit our campfire – where we’re always cooking up tasty treats.

Meet Jo – our forest school leader!
Jo has been working with young children as a primary school teacher for 15 years. She is an Early Years specialist, SENCO and former deputy Headteacher at a school in Nottingham. In 2014 she qualified as a Level 3 Forest School Leader and ran sessions throughout her time in post, before setting up Forest Folk Play in 2021 to provide an exciting alternative learning environment for children of all ages where they could develop a range of skills and benefit from playing in the great outdoors.
If you’re interested in learning more about Forest Folk Play or booking onto one of our sessions, Jo would love to hear from you!
